02 / BEHIND THE SONG
THE USUAL
Three weeks in a new city.
Read the story
You know which bus to take.
You know how to get to work.
You have a room to sleep in, a key in your pocket, and everything you're supposed to need.
But somehow, days go by without having a real conversation with anyone.
Then there's this little café near the station.
Someone remembers how you like your coffee. They tell you where to get a decent meal, which road floods when it rains, and which bus never shows up on time.
Nothing extraordinary.
Until one morning, they say,
“See you tomorrow.”
And you answer,
“Yeah, I'll be here.”
They probably don't think twice about it.
But you do.
Because for the first time since you moved here, there's somewhere you actually want to go when you wake up.
THE USUAL is about those small, ordinary moments that mean more than anyone realizes.
And about how much it matters to be remembered, especially when you've started to feel invisible.
Maybe you've had a place like that.
Or maybe you've been that person for someone else.
Either way, I hope this song stays with you. 🤍
